Day Dreams and Ice Creams

It has been grey for the last few days. Where has Summer gone? I'm finding it a little hard to believe that we still have August to go - right at this very minute it feels like it could be September and Autumn next week!

So I will day dream about sunny days and ice cream lollies instead. We can pretend we want to reach for sprinkles and strawberry sauce rather than kettles and cups of tea! This is another card from my sparkly birthday range - it is perfect for birthdays or as an invitation, and can be custom made in any colours.

I've just checked the weather with great optimism. It is looking a little brighter next week. I will cross my fingers and hope for Summer!

Have a great weekend!

Sparkly Birthday Cake

My range of sparkly birthday cards is always expanding and this time it is with this birthday cake. It incorporates elements of my other designs - there is sparkle and sprinkles, colour and stars - but with this card the flames flicker too!

These cards are a lovely colourful way of sending someone birthday wishes at this time of year. All my cards are currently made to order so I would be able to include any favourite colours or cake flavours. No request is silly and I'd be happy to discuss any ideas with you if you email me at katiesarah.makes@hotmail.co,uk or contact me on Facebook

Have a good evening!

Ice Cream Sundae

And all of a sudden we're into the Summer months. Not that you'd know from the rain we've had today. We had a small lake in our garden earlier and it has been more than a little blustery.

Still as I am writing this there is a little bit of light peering through the clouds so I'll look forward, optimistically, to warm days when we can get out and about, and treat ourselves to some ice cream!

I can't remember the last time I actually had an ice cream sundae but I love their decadence! Remember the ice cream at places like Pizza Hut where you could fill your bowl and finish it off with sprinkles and all the toppings?! What a treat that was.

The design for this card stemmed from this colourful swirl of an ice cream. I still love using bright pastels in my designs and I like adding a bit of sparkle with the glittery white sprinkles. I will happily make this greetings card with whatever colours (or flavours) you fancy so don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in a commissioned card.

I'll cross my fingers the rain stays away.

p.s. For more of my summery ice cream designs have a look at this post. I still love making the ice cream vans and they are a favourite for this time of year. Perfect for Summer birthdays or party invitations. If you're interested in any of my designs do get in touch at katiesarah.makes@hotmail.co.uk for more information.

Lollipop Lollipop

Last week I shared my sweet treats greeting card which was inspired by a visit to a local sweet shop. This lollipop, a larger version of the one on that card, is just as colourful with summery pastels and glittery white sprinkles. This lollipop comes wrapped in thin, clear plastic too!

It can be customised in any colour and is just as perfect for a party invitation as it is as a greetings card. If you're interested, please do get in touch.

Happy Monday!

Sweet Treats

I created this greetings card having visited a sweet shop in a local town. It had the feel of an old fashioned store with rows of jars filled with colourful sweets but there were plenty of more recent and American treats around too.

The swirly lollipop, in a similar style to my sparkly birthday range, and the jelly beans reminds me of Honeydukes in Harry Potter!

Each part of this design is cut from textured, coloured paper, with some parts standing forward from the card and others wrapped in thin, clear plastic and ribbon for the full sweet shop effect!

I hope you had a good weekend!

Strawberry Cupcake

My cupcake cards have always gone down well. I think they’re perfect for birthdays because they’re colourful and they have some sparkle too.

In summer I kind of like the idea of strawberry everything. It is one of my favourite fruits which is the reason why I decided to make this Strawberry Cupcake. With summery reds and sparkly pale pink sprinkles it is a birthday card, a note card or a summer party invitation. It fits with my other cupcake designs quite well and I have actually sold these in a set together before too.

It is June! Does that mean summer has started now? I’m never quite sure. Either way I hope the sun is out for you and you’ve got something lovely coming up this season.

Ice Cream Daze

Summer means ice cream, doesn’t it? I think it partially does and it is even better if you’ve got the sun and beach to go with it.

I’ve made ice cream cards before and while I do continue to make and sell this design, another style of ice cream has evolved from my sparkly birthday range. With a great curl of ice cream this design is more Mr Whippy Ice Cream Van than gelato bar.  It features the familiar sprinkles from my cupcakes and fits right into the range - I often sell these greetings card alongside each other.

This ice cream is vanilla but one of my favourite flavours is mint choc chip. I think I’ll work on that next! Have a really good day!

Birthday Doughnut

This Doughnut (or donut) greetings card stemmed from a popular design of mine - the birthday cupcake! With icing and sprinkles these cards almost scream birthday. They're bright, colourful and they've got sparkle too.

This doughnut card could also be used as an invitation along with any of the cards from my sparkly birthday range. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch at katiesarah.makes@hotmail.co.uk.

I hope you have a very good day!

Party Party!

Birthdays mean parties, and from when we were younger parties were synonymous with party hats, presents and sprinkles on cakes. This handmade greetings card incorporates all three with some extra sparkle too! It is made from textured paper with purple satin ribbon and silver thread.

Happy Friday!

Custom Handcrafted ‘Age’ Greetings Cards

From the beginning I have loved personalising cards. I have made a huge number of custom cards from shoes and make up to this little pig - all of which help to make a greeting a little more special.

I also like to help people celebrate the big birthdays! So whether your son is turning five, or a granddaughter is now 21 my range of numbered cards is perfect for you! Range isn’t really the right word, actually, because I am able to work with you to adapt any of my existing greetings cards or to create a fresh design.

One of my most popular ‘age’ cards is the Sparkly Cupcake above. I originally made these cards in pink and turquoise but I can make them in almost any colour and with any age.

If you are ever interested in any of my handcrafted greetings cards, please do not hesitate to get in touch at katiesarah.makes@hotmail.co.uk
